Stereotypical Fashion

Pauls Boutique. When you hear those two words do you think chavchavchav or do you think lovelovelove?  Some of you may know that Pauls Boutique had a sample sale last weekend in London, and as a total fashionista I decided to go! However, I’m not Pauls Boutique’s biggest fan – I see a lot of people (that I wouldn’t want to be associated with) wearing their PB quilted jackets, carrying massive handbags saying ‘I LOVE PB’. This gives Pauls Boutique as a whole a bad reputation!  I asked ten people of all age groups and they agreed. They wouldn’t think of wearing Pauls Boutique.
One thing I’ve learnt by writing this blog is that when dealing with fashion you have to keep an open mind because you may love something that you never thought you would, and fashion is about exploration (that's no excuse to look bad LOL).
I was going through the Pauls Boutique website, looking at the handbags and I actually found some really pretty handbags - instead of being 'chavy' they’re REALLY elegant!  When I hear people saying that ALL PB bags are 'chavy', it’s annoying but it's actually really stereotypical!
Anyways, when I went to the sample sale there were some brand new bags at heavily discounted prices. I brought two bags which you can see below:

This is the first bag that I brought. It's called Holly, and on the PB website it's £60. At the sample sale I got this for £20 - BARGAIN! I really liked this bag straight away because it's not a typical PB bag, it's elegant and the colour scheme is beautiful! I haven't seen anyone carry this bag in this colour - how many navy and nude bags do you see around? I also really like the quilted look (as you know from my Vintage article). The straps are really cute as well - it's very Chanel;) .. I would wear this bag with a nice top, navy blazer, jeggings or shorts with navy shoes. In my opinion navy and black don't go together so I wouldn't wear this with black jeans.

The other bag I got is called Bridget and on the PB website, sells for £70. I got this one for £25 - another bargain! I really liked this bag because the Tan colour has really come back into fashion, and it looks really elegant! It's not an out there PB bag - it's overall elegant. I used to have a bag like this from Primark (£3) but obviously the cut of this bag is much prettier! I'm going to use this bag as a school bag because I can get SO much in this. But I could also take it out, and I would wear this with black jeans, black heels, a cream with bangles. At some point I'll upload pictures of me wearing both bags with appropriate outfits.

Still think Pauls Boutique is for chavs?  Don't get me wrong, some bags are out there but others are fashionable! Want to see more? On the Pauls Boutique website, all their bags are on there and even though they are a bit pricey, sales for Christmas will start soon so look out for that and they should have another sample sale at some point! One way to find out to all you need to know about sales, discounts and events is applying to the mailing list which should be on each website - this applies for all shops! About 30 emails from shops come to me each day so I know everything straight away! Remember to keep an open mind fashionistas;) -  Thank you for reading x

PRIMARNI?

From the post name you already know that I'm going to be writing about Primark, also know as Primarni.  This is the name given to Primark by people that are posh, acting like they're shopping at Armani. I find this quite funny actually, especially when these people come out of Primark with big bags full of clothes trying to hide the fact that they can't be seen dead in there. Psshhttt, get over yourself!

I love Primark, I think its the perfect shop to get all of your latest fashion needs! Fashion is changing so rapidly that it's not practical to be spending lots and lots, especially with the economical recession that we are suffering from (hahahaha my bit of formality).. but yeah, we  simply aren't millionaires! I'm happy to admit that I have quite a few Primark tops in my cupboard, which I'm taking on holiday with me!  Here's a few for you to see; I'm really sorry about my hair guys (need a haircut). If you can't see the tops clearly, it's okay because I'll just explain them to you!

The top on the left is a sleeveless denim top. I never used to like the denim look because I used to see my uncle wear a denim shirt and he's like 50, and as a result I thought denim should just be worn in the form of jeans! Like I've said in previous posts, it's really important to experiment with fashion because you find out more about yourself and majority of the time it always looks nice when you try something different by stepping out of your comfort zone. When denim came in back in fashion as tops, jackets and gilets etc, I thought I'd go to Primark and buy a top to try out. Not only is this top easy to wear, it's comfortable and perfect for many occassions! Here I've teamed it with my famous black heels;) (all the other ones are packed) and black leggings - it's slick. However saying this, you obviously can't wear denim on denim so I wouldn't ever wear this top with jeans or jeggings because you'd just clash your clothes and look weird.  This top could also work be tucked into a summer skirt to look like a dress - that would actually look really nice! I got this top for £10; I would tell people to buy it, but I would say get one size up to your normal size because it's quite a short top and to tie up the front of the top nicely, you need a bit of space to pull the material down or you might find your belly hanging out - what a lovely sight;)

Okay so the next top is a cream chiffon full sleeve top, with gold buttons going halfway down the top and buttons on the sleeves so you can make them shorter or longer depending on your preference.  From the picture, it's clear that I have folded the sleeves up, and tucked the top into my leggings. This top looks perfect even when it's not tucked in; it's a nice flowy tunic so you can wear it either way. I loved this top when I first saw it because it's just so nice and casual but at the same time looks gorgeous! It can be worn all year around - in summer you don't need to wear a full length top underneath. Even though I've worn the top with leggings, it can be worn with jeggings, beige jeans, and normal black jeans. I personally wouldn't wear it with blue jeans purely because I don't think it would match. I have worn pearl earrings and pearl bracelets with it (also from Primark) because this contrasts nicely with the colour of the top; nevertheless other gold jewellery would match just as well because of the buttons. This chiffon material could represent the vintage trend -  it's so elegant! I would definitely recommend this top to anyone - it's one of my favourites in my whole wardrobe, and it wasn't even expensive. I got this top for £12, and it's available in like 4 other colours, including black, purple, beige and pink. I would class it as a wardrobe essential!

My last top is a  sleeveless lace top, which I have already spoken about in my post about Vintage (check it out if you haven't already)! The difference between this top and the others is that 1) it's the only one from Primark and 2) it's my favourite because it has collars and an elegant colour contrast. My hair covers up the top but like the lining in the middle, the top has black collars.  On the lining are black buttons so this top is easy to put on without messing up your hair!  I have tucked this top into my leggings, just like the others. I have done this because the top is quite short anyway and when out it looks like it doesn't fit me even when it does! But as you can see, where it tucks I have taken some of the top out to give it some texture and fall nicely - not just go straight down. You could easily wear a camisole underneath this top; I haven't to show the fact that I am wearing lace.  This top is available in a couple of other colours, but this was my favourite! This top can be worn with black leggings and black jeans. Anything blue or any other colour would clash with the black lining. This top was £8, and even though this top is beautiful, again I would buy a bigger size than normal because of the short length and for this top to only be worn in Summer. It can make you feel pretty cold, unless you have a cardigan or something on top. Because of the collars, a necklace isn't needed because it would ruin the presentation of the top. Nice earrings, and a bracelet or ring will look perfect and won't make you look overdressed!

I hope you've learnt a thing or two about styling clothes, and decided to open up to Primark if you haven't already. Primark also sells pretty jewellery that would go with any of these tops. To an extent, I would say that Primark is better than designers like Armani because not only are they cheaper but most of the clothes are nicer to be honest! Leave comments if need help or want to give me advice; thank you for reading x

What Goes Around Comes Around

When I think of Vintage, I picture old clothes that are second hand – charity shops, but that’s only a tiny proportion of Vintage. Yes, Vintage can be second hand but the term actually means clothes that have come back in fashion from a previous era. Long pleated skirts (like the one below), is an example of a popular Vintage item.  It originally comes from the 60’s, however recently it has been brought back and is a fashionable summer garment!

A designer in which is inspired by vintage is Chanel.  Their bags are quilted, in which went out of fashion for a couple years but now you see the Quilted look everywhere! High street retailers have adapted the look and created MUCH cheaper versions – it may not have the Chanel sign but I still love my quilted bag; ), I take it everywhere because it’s so handy and trendy!

I went shopping the other day and I brought a pair of stilletos, which you can see above and below ... I got home and showed my mum and she said ‘Priya, I used to have those exact same Stilletos in at least 7 different colours, I can’t believe they’ve come back in fashion!’ …  So you’ll see that parents are actually quite fashionable, all their fashion has come back and I guarantee if you ask any of your parents they’ll see items that you have in your cupboard that they wore during their 20’s! Don’t you wish they kept all their things?!  (Excuse the bad camera quality.)

Lace is a material associated with vintage as well. I have about five lace dresses and three lace tops, and I absolutely adore them! It’s so elegant and it can be worn in Summer and Winter. But I think the ultimate Vintage must have accessory is the HAT!!! Even if you’re not a hat person, it looks fab on everyone! Or, if you really detest the idea then a bow would be just as fashionable! I have a secret obsession with bows as you can see on the heels. I also brought a bow clip yesterday (yes, I know I go shopping a lot) but yeah, bows were originally around in the 1990’s, but it’s become popular again! In 2010, many bows were seen on the catwalk and since then they’ve become a girls must have!

You see Vintage on the covers of fashion magazines such as Vogue and Elle, and it's one of those trends that will always exist – things will always keep coming back.  What do you think of Vintage clothes, or my heels/bag? Let me know, comment! Thank you for reading x

PARTAYYYYY;)

So my blog isn’t just about fashion choices and what looks good – I’m also going to tell you guys about what I wear to parties and that sort of thing, so I can put the words I preach into practice;). Yesterday evening, my school organised a party on a boat, basically it's something we do every year. I went to them last year but I don’t have any picsL … Considering we haven’t had that a good summer this year, I thought why not wear something elegant and long? I went for a dark blue dress with white flowers on it (had to show my girlie side hehehe) and teamed it with black heels that I ADORE and a sophisticated black clutch bag … Here’s a picture:

What do you think? Short dresses are night but for a boat you want to take a sophisticated and elegant approach. If I was going to a house party or something, I probably would've of word an LBD (little black dress). I wore pearl earrings because the dress itself has a lot of spark so to wear dangly earrings or wear too much jewellery would look OTT, and kill the whole outfit! All of my mates looked gawjjj as well! Anyways, I hoped all you guys liked out my outfit – comment if you wanna give me any advice hahaha; thank you for reading x

What To Make Of Aztec...

A recent trend that bombarded the streets of England is Aztec. I'm not sure what to make of it - is it a bit too out there? I like to stick to what I know primarily - however sometimes I think it's necessary to be different and make a change. I went shopping today everywhere I looked I could see Aztec prints hence my inspiration for this;) .. anyways I thought I'd give Aztec a go considering loads of celebrities wore it including Kim Kardashian (and I love her LOL)

aztec-tribal-header

I brought a pair of shorts that I could wear on a nice day - here's a picture of them:

I went shopping with my friends with the shorts on (with a black camisole, black tights underneath, black pumps and a tan colour necklace), and it was weird because at least 4 people stopped to ask me where I got my shorts from, so evidently Aztec seems to be a really popular style! If you had showed me a picture of this a month ago, I guarantee I would of said 'Eww, why do people even wear Aztec prints - they're ugly', but now I genuinely think that Aztec is quite a cool trend, BUT it depends on the colours, style of pattern and what the garment is. I googled other Aztec things and I personally think that these leggings are DISGUSTING!!

Seriously, why do people do this to themselves? Maybe it's just me but I would NEVER be seen dead in these (haha).

Aztec prints can be worn in many different ways - on cardigans that you can chill at home in, or on skirts that you could go to a party in; but it's all about keeping it simple. Let the Aztec garment make the statement, and don't clash it with 110 other things that make you look even more bold - like plaid ... What's up with that? Do you want to look like a disco ball of patterns? Teaming an Aztec skirt with simple black heels and a black camisole would be perfect - it's so simple yet so eye catching.

There are some mens Aztec tops as well, not too sure if I would put it on a male though? Anyways that's just me, lemme know what you think - thank you for reading x

Pink Shirts On Boys - Hot or Not?

It really didn't take me long to think of what I was going to write next - I swear I never run out of words:O LOL - well the first thing that I think people need to get over is boys that wear pink! IT'S NOT JUST FOR GAY PEOPLE .. I actually think some boys look really sexy in pink, but it definitely depends on what he wears it with.

Boys- pink shirt and blue jeans DO NOT go, it looks horrible and makes you look like an old man. Sorry but truth hurts!  Now girlies, I think that boys definitely look sexy when they wear baby pink shirts with grey suit trousers. I couldn't find any pictures but honestly it actually looks really hot! In a way, it's like girls wearing blue - is that really a bad thing? I have 3 Ralph Lauren Polo's - each a different shade of blue and I've received so many comments wearing them!

Well anyways, I personally think that this is something a boy should wear.  Grey Satin suit trousers -WOW.  Black jeans might be acceptable? What do you guys think? Thank you for reading x

WOOOO MY BLOG WORKS !

So I'm Priya, an average 15-year old girl, with a big dream of making it in the fashion industry.  Fashion is my obsession, I have different things going in and out of my wardrobe today - hence the blog URL.  Don't you hate those times when you're on the street and you're thinking 'OMG what is she wearing:| - FASHION DISASTER!', well I get that all the time.

My blog is simply going to be about what I think is hot - on boys and girls (hehehe), talking about new trends, things that I buy when I go shopping and putting outfits together.

I LOVE sequins, sparkles but simplicity at the same time - it has to be so wrong but so right in different ways - get it? ;) .. Basically, I'm going to write how I feel - hope you guys like it, Thank you for reading x
